Severe Weather 1/10/2008

January 18, 2008 21:59 by KV4S

Sorry for the long delay in posting...

This day was forcast a few days out by the NWS and James Spann.

Warnings went off all day.  When i got home I signed into the Spotter chat and started watching everythign going on.

We got a good reports from some of the members.  One guys report even made it into an LSR! This was a first for our chat room!  Full details on the ALERT blog

Just when I thought everything had finally settled down and my wife and I were about to go get something to eat a Tornado warning went off for Shelby county.

At that time it was around Columbiana and moving in the direction of HWY 11.  We finally had to get the computer and cell phones and get in the closet but the storm passed just a few miles north and all we got was some high wind.  A tornado didn't form in that storm, at least the NWS survey teams never found anything.

I didn't get on the radio much... I've become the NWS IM liason to the spotter room it would appear. But i'm fine with that because I'm having antenna problems and i dont' get the best signal from my house between the mountians!
